Posted by rebecca soh | March 26, 2008, 9:36 pmDear Sir / Madam,
I am a Kew-trained botanist and award-winning garden designer putting together an exhibit for the Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, the largest gardening event in the world.
Given the direct relevance of the garden’s botanical spa theme to FIMAS INTERNATIONAL’s business, and the huge international media profile generated by the show, I thought I would contact you to see if you might be interested in a potential collaboration.
Taking the form of a luxurious tropical spa, the indoor garden will be designed to appear as if it is open to the sky, creating a lush green bathing space enjoyable even to those living in less idyllic climes. Designed with a strong conservation message, the garden will be the first-ever to be planted entirely with a collection of rare and endangered plants, which despite being under severe threat in the wild, have been saved from extinction through their introduction and popularisation in our gardens.
Having been fully accepted by the RHS, who have described it as ‘potentially one of the most exciting this year’, my design partner David Cubero and myself are currently seeking a like-minded sponsor to help turn this idea of an ‘outdoor bathroom’ into a reality. Attracting huge international media coverage and high-level attendance, such gardens can prove a decidedly cost effective way to reach a large, well heeled audience. Please find a detailed breakdown of such benefits attached. The anticipated level of sponsorship we are looking for is in the region of £50,000.
I have attached an initial artist’s impression of what the garden will look like, plus further information about David and myself as designers for your consideration. I hope you find these useful.
Please do let me know if you would be interested in discussing the possibility of a potential collaboration further.
Best,
James Wong
